This is a quote I selected while listening to a lecture by Caroline Myss.
Caroline Myss is an American author involved in healing and personal development who shows great interest in the language of symbols and archetypes.
I was listening to her lecture while looking for aspects of speech I could use in a video for a language class. In the end, I did not find what I was looking for but immediately noted down this quote when I heard it.
“Every word is a universe unto itself.”
This is so true! I like words (or I would be neither a teacher nor a translator!) precisely because they contain and encompass so much. Don’t you think we could use the same quote to talk about languages, too? Every language is a universe unto itself. That is true, too, isn’t it?
What does this quotation mean to you? Please share your thoughts in the comments section below! Thank you 🙂
